This one is really near and dear to me…I’m not going to lie. For those of you who have been following me for a little while, you’ve probably seen the name “Anderson Shore” thrown around a few times on the blog. This guy has been amazing in the ability to do what I love to do for a living. Anderson has been my second-shooter on a number of occasions and has pushed my creativity in ways I can’t explain. But far beyond his influence on my photography, I’ve loved the time I get to spend with him and grow in our walks with God together. I’ve seen this guy pursue his girlfriend, Kerri, for almost 2 years now, and the way he loves her challenges me and spurs me to love Ashley better! Even on our Engagement Jaunt around Raleigh, I noticed the small and subtle ways he makes every moment with Kerri count. Whether he’s whispering compliments to her, coming up with fun games to play (completely off of the top of his head), or just making her laugh, he’s always doing whatever he can to serve her and do so well. If you don’t believe me, just check out how he proposed to her!
I certainly can’t leave Kerri out of this little write-up either. This soft-spoken, Raleigh-raised gal is anything but weak or a pushover. When God called her and Anderson to step out in faith and agree to join a church plan in Murphreesboro, TN (of which they know no one there) in order to witness to college students there, she didn’t blink an eye. That is some gargantuan faith right there, to not just “back up” Anderson’s decision to go, but help make it with him is amazing to me.
I absolutely loved this shoot, from the first snap of the shutter I knew that Anderson, Kerri and I were going to have a fun day together. We hit a few minor squalls, but none of which were able to capsize our hopes for the day. Sure the boat rental place tried to tell us the “wind was too strong” to take out a canoe, and sure we almost missed strawberry-picking because it closed at 6:30, but with Anderson & Kerri, no matter what threatens to go wrong, you just don’t care. They’re too much fun to care! I really hope you guys enjoy these as much as I did. It was an honor to be a part of it. If any of you are curious as to how we got those shots, allow me to show you (look below). My back was drenched in sweat, my legs were burning like someone poured Napalm on them, and I could hardly walk after paddleboating myself around for 30 minutes…but we got some awesome pics!!! Fact: Paddleboating is hardly as romantic when you’re by yourself. Kerri had to check and see if the coast was clear before she snagged a strawberry for herself…I about died laughing.
